Raised in a tight knit and spiritual Armenian-American family in Oregon, James Tufenkian knew from a young age that he wanted to live his life with two defining principles: social responsibility and cultural identity. How these aspirations have woven together over the years into several successful businesses that have touched the lives of thousands is a story of inspiration and idealism. James personally travels to Armenia and Nepal several times a year to oversee design and production, and his own designs draw inspiration from nature, fine art, and traditional motifs. James uses a refined balance of texture and color in patterns that range from subtle understated solids to dramatic organic designs. The colorways of his designs are just as varied, incorporating neutral tones to vibrant palettes.
