Design Centre, Center Dome 3rd floor London
The fall grand opening represents Tufenkian’s FIRST flagship location in Europe serving the design community. Located on the Third Floor Center Dome 315 of the famed Design Centre at Chelsea Harbour, the nearly 1,000-square-foot space provides Tufenkian a significant opportunity to demonstrate its strength as a creative and dynamic company with the London design community. “London has become a very important market for us with its designers serving clients from all over the world while shopping for product in the local market,” says James Tufenkian, owner and CEO of Tufenkian Artisan Carpets worldwide. The new showroom will house a diverse representation of classic and modern design displays and product samples while providing an interactive work space for its clients. In addition to offering Tufenkian’s Core Tibetan and Armenian Collections, the showroom will also offer the Designers’ Reserve Collection, a trade exclusive product and collaboration between James Tufenkian and world renown designers such as Barbara Barry, Laura Kirar, Mark Pollack, Kevin Walz, and Vicente Wolf. Designs are executed in both wool and wool/silk combinations as well as a range of other natural fibers including hemp and aloo. Additionally, the showroom will display Tufenkian’s superior custom rug program allowing for endless design flexibility including re-sizing, re-coloring or modifying almost any existing Tufenkian carpet, or create a completely original design inspired by a child’s drawing, work of art, or a favorite motif from the room that is being decorated. Tufenkian’s proprietary T-Gallery computer design system allows customers to experiment with multiple design and color options, immediately providing color renderings that can then be woven into small strike-off samples. Completed custom rugs are normally delivered within three to six months. EventLondon Design Week 2011 Showroom Exclusives
