The Tufenkian Showroom on the 17th floor of the Chicago Merchandise Mart features design vignettes by Niedermaier. The arrangements, peppered throughout the 2,500 square foot showroom, showcase Tufenkian carpets in an array of living and working environments. The showroom was designed by Thomas Shoner Associates, whose other recent projects include Ice (in Las Vegas) and Crobar, Rednofive, Lip's, and Room 22 (in Chicago).
Tufenkian's Chicago Showroom offers a full selection of handmade carpets from our Core Tibetan and Armenian lines. Woven from 100% virgin Tibetan and Armenian wool in a variety of knot constructions, the carpets in the Chicago Showroom reflect contemporary, transitional, and traditional patterns.
In addition to offering our Tibetan and Armenian Collections, the Chicago Showroom offers our Designers' Reserve Collection, a collaboration between James Tufenkian and renowned designers such as Barbara Barry, Kevin Walz, Vicente Wolf and Mark Pollack.
The inviting environment and knowledgeable staff of Tufenkian’s Chicago Showroom make it easy to select a carpet for immediate delivery or to design an exclusive custom rug. A full range of contract, residential, and hospitality services are offered, and we are privileged to offer those services to the Chicago design community.

Pete Perrodin, Showroom Manager Pete comes to Tufenkian with over 20 years of successful sales and management experience for national and international luxury products. Prior to joining Tufenkian he managed sales & sales training for Baker, Knapp & Tubbs in both Chicago & Los Angeles. He was also Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Cal-Pacific Showrooms in Los Angeles.
Pete has an avid interest in both the decorative arts and psychology; a combination he feels has been the underlying basis for his sales and marketing success.
Emily Mundwiller, Operations/Inside Sales Representative Emily a graduate of Columbia College in Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts degree focusing on Fine Art Photography.
Formerly with Urban Archaeology, Emily began there as Showroom Assistant then moved into Showroom Operations and ultimately became a Designer Sales Representative.
At Tufenkian her skills in customer service and excellent client rapport make her the perfect fit for her new position as Operations/Inside Sales Representative.
Once again, Tufenkian rugs are shown throughout the annual Dream Home, presented by Design Center at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. Located in the North Lobby of the Mart, Dream Home provides an opportunity for Chicago’s top interior design firms to create an intriguing and inspiring environment. Each design group takes one room to make their own, and this year Iceplum Ash will be featured in the bedroom (decorated by Jeannie Balsam of Jeannie Balsam, LLC), Twilight VI Aurora in the dining room (Lisa Simeone & Gina Deary of Simeone Deary Design Group) and Section Platinum in the kitchen (Patrick Borg, Michelle Gribac, Kate Johnston and Martin Spicuzza of Neff of Chicago).
